Engineering students win competition award “PLC Robotics 2025”

     Congratulations to the Mechatronics Engineering students from the Faculty of Engineering, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP) for their outstanding achievements in the “PLC and Automation Competition” (Higher Education or Vocational Level). The competition, titled “PLC Pro Integration Challenge”, focused on applying PLC in complex automation systems such as HMI and Arm Robot. The students were under the guidance of Asst. Prof. Dr. Watchara Songsom and recently competed at Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University under the Royal Patronage.

🥈 Team Mechatron, consisting of Mr. Sitthichai Sararat and Mr. Chaiphat Saiprasat, won 1st Runner-up.

🏅 Team MC△T, consisting of Mr. Saengchai Saichomphu and Mr. Papangkorn Pluemboon, secured 4th place.

     Their achievements highlight the skills and excellence of RMUTP students in automation and robotics.

Faculty of Engineering Organizes Leadership Seminar for Student Club Leaders to Develop Leadership Potential

     The Faculty of Engineering, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP) organized a Leadership Seminar for Student Club Leaders to enhance leadership skills, strengthen organizational management abilities, and promote ethical awareness in fulfilling responsibilities. The event took place from February 24–28, 2025, at the Faculty of Engineering, RMUTP, and Baan Pa Rim Khuean, Mueang District, Nakhon Nayok Province.

     The seminar featured activities designed to improve teamwork, project planning, and problem-solving skills, preparing students to organize impactful activities for society and the community. The event attracted participation from student club leaders and representatives from various disciplines, providing them with an opportunity to exchange ideas, build leadership networks, and apply their newfound knowledge to enhance the efficiency of student club operations.

     The Faculty of Engineering at RMUTP remains committed to fostering students’ academic and extracurricular potential, ensuring they become well-rounded graduates ready to take on leadership roles in the future.

Automotive Engineering Provides Motorcycle Inspection Services

     The Automotive Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon, offered motorcycle inspection and oil change services.

     On February 10, 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Nattapong Phantthuna, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, presided over the opening ceremony of the “Rajamangala Volunteer Project: Caring for Motorcycle Maintenance to Reduce PM2.5 Pollution.” The event was organized by Lecturer Sathaporn Wannapoh, Head of the Automotive Engineering Department, along with faculty members and vocational certificate (Vocational Diploma) students.

     The service was available to students, staff, and the general public, allowing motorcycles with engine capacities not exceeding 150cc to undergo a 16-point inspection, oil changes, and maintenance on engine systems, braking systems, and drivetrain systems. This initiative aimed to provide academic services to the community while engaging vocational students in hands-on learning, applying classroom knowledge to real-world practice. The project took place from February 10 to 11, 2025, at the Mechanical Engineering Building.

Faculty of Engineering Organizes “Community-Based Learning for Sustainable Cultural and Economic Value” Project

     The Arts and Culture Division, Student Affairs Department of the Faculty of Engineering, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon, organized the “Community-Based Learning for Sustainable Cultural and Economic Value” project. The objective of this initiative was to provide students with an understanding of how to utilize local or discarded materials to create useful products for sale, generating income for local communities. Additionally, students actively participated in activities that celebrated and preserved local cultural heritage.

     The project took place from January 30 to February 1, 2025, at the Tha Takro Handicraft Weaving Community Enterprise and the Solar-Dried Banana Community Enterprise in Kanchanaburi Province, as well as the Bandtharee Mushroom House in Ratchaburi Province.

Faculty of Engineering Organizes Cyber Threat Immunity and Drug Prevention Program

     On January 30, 2025, the Faculty of Engineering, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon, organized the “Cyber Threat Immunity and Drug Prevention Program.” The event was presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Nattapong Phantthuna, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, who delivered the opening remarks.

     This program aimed to educate students about the dangers and harmful effects of drug abuse while empowering them to become key advocates in anti-drug initiatives within higher education institutions, communities, and society at large. The awareness campaign serves as a crucial step in tackling drug-related issues, equipping students with the necessary knowledge to protect themselves from drug involvement, and fostering essential life skills for safe and responsible living in society.

     Additionally, students gained awareness of cyber threats, online risks, and cybercrime. The event featured guest speakers, including Police Sub-Lieutenant Pakin Sisutham, Police Sergeant Major Taweesak Chaiphet, and Police Sergeant Major Kritsakon Kaewrongkham, who delivered lectures on “The Issues of Drug Abuse, Online Gambling, and Cyber Threats” and “Cyber Threat Awareness: Understanding Drug Abuse, Online Gambling, and Hidden Cyber Dangers.” The program was held at Fueng Thong Conference Room, 3rd Floor, Multipurpose Building.

Faculty of Engineering Declares a No Gift Policy

     On January 14, 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Nattapong Phantthuna, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon, along with administrators and personnel, jointly declared the No Gift Policy—a commitment to refusing all forms of gifts and gratuities in the performance of official duties—at the Gear Courtyard.

     The Dean stated that, as an administrator of the Faculty of Engineering, he firmly upholds ethical governance, responsibility, integrity, and transparency in operations. The policy ensures accountability and fosters a culture of honesty, integrity, and ethical conduct in education, both now and in the future. The faculty remains steadfast in combating all forms of corruption, preventing or minimizing opportunities for bribery and conflicts of interest.

Furthermore, the university has established a clear No Gift Policy, which includes the following guidelines:

  • Academic and support staff must refrain from both giving and receiving any gifts or gratuities related to their official duties, whether from internal or external personnel.
  • Staff must not seek or solicit gifts, gratuities, or any illicit benefits.
  • Instead of material gifts, greetings may be conveyed through signed greeting cards or digital messages via social media.

Students Awarded the Royal Academic Excellence Medal for the Year 2024

     The Board of Directors of the Fund for Education and Research in Engineering under the Royal Patronage of His Royal Highness Crown Prince, administered by the Engineering Institute of Thailand under the Royal Patronage, has awarded the Royal Academic Excellence Medal for the year 2024 to outstanding engineering students from universities across the country who have achieved the highest academic performance.

     On this occasion, Mr. Thanathorn Suebsaila (Department of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering), Mr. Nithiphon Thawatchaicharoenying (Department of Mechatronics and Automated Manufacturing Systems Engineering), and Ms. Narinthip Suwanhong (Department of Tool and Die Engineering) from the Faculty of Engineering, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon, were honored with the Royal Academic Excellence Medal. They achieved an outstanding cumulative GPA of 3.88.

     His Majesty the King graciously appointed General Daopong Ratanasuwan, Privy Councillor, as His Majesty’s representative to preside over the award ceremony for the Royal Academic Excellence Medals and the certificates of honor presented by the Fund for Education and Research in Engineering under the Royal Patronage of His Royal Highness Crown Prince for the year 2023. The ceremony took place at the Sahathai Samakhom Pavilion in the Grand Palace on Thursday, December 24, 2024, at 10:00 AM.
